We have something to confess. We made a deal, a very, very ill-advised deal, with a being calling itself Grandmother. It promised Us the power to defeat Celestia. But We were tricked. Used.
We… We were able to feel some of it’s thoughts, when We were nearly consumed by it. It comes from Outside. Outside everything. And it hates us all. We thought We knew hatred, but what it feels towards our universe… towards all universes… it doesn’t even compare.
Not much. Mostly cold, and dark. The sound of Our screaming, until Our voice gave out. Things that were done to Us… that We’d really rather not think about, or discuss, ever. Thats about all.
That was very clever of you. While you’re quite an intelligent colt, normally We wouldn’t expect such a direct, cunning plan from you. We thing We’re starting to rub off on you.
…We hope this marks the end of Grandmother’s plans for Equestria. While We were inside Our mind, We recovered a handful of Our lost memories from that night… We think We saw into her head, a little, while We were transformed. Not a pleasant place. If she had succeeded in her plans, there wouldn’t have been an Equestria left for anypony to rule.
*Nightmare Moon nods, then pointedly looks away.*
We… We suppose if you wanted… to go on a date with Arcel… without Us along… it would be alright, at least just once. But, Arcel, whatever fun things you do with her, you’d best be prepared to do double that with Us later on!

No! *traps the seed in a magical barrier, and keeps the barrier afloat*
*The seed squirms up against the barrier, but remains trapped inside. Nightmare Moon slowly, groggily, wakes up.*
Oh, Our head… We didn’t get drunk again, did We?

*She starts to remember.*
You tied Us down… then… We were stuck in a room, somewhere. And you were there, and Grandmother was there, and some human We didn’t recognise was there…
*She looks at the seed.*
So much trouble, for such a small thing. *She looks wistfully at it for a moment.* If only it could have been controlled. No matter. Burn it. That should end this once and for all.
What…? We don’t remember… Our head feels like it’s full of fuzz…
