Fun factoid, that version of the Elder Sign is actually the one that August Derleth, the very famous popularizer and publisher of H.P. Lovecrafts stories/letters said the Elder Sign looked like. That whole weird stick-looking thing? That’s what H.P.L ACTUALLY said it should look like.
