He struggled for a good couple minutes trying to find the appropriate way to articulate himself and in doing so his voice shot up a few octaves from being unable to keep his displeasure toward her answer in check,
“Y .. You cannot be serious Nightmare! I .. I mean aren’t these new and unstable clones proof enough that his influence is overtaking Arcel? What if by next time there isn’t even an Arcel left? Then you’re left with just the Dark Descent. And I don’t like the idea of him engulfing my friend completely and he can keep me at hoof’s length by threatening my to .. ohhh balls to the technicalities. I don’t like him keeping me restrained because he has my wife’s life tucked as an ace should I be able to best him. And even if he does say he’s bound by his word, I still trust him about as far as I can levitate and throw him. Something’s going wrong if these clones are off kilter and this mysterious number 12 has some of the answers I seek.”

Else wise we’re going to be in an endless recursion where we fight him off, he threatens with the life link, we let him go and he continues to use Arcel like he was some sort of puppet and reset his memory each time. We have to force his hand somehow. Plus .. think on it if you will .. is it not odd that I have to go to the twelfth clone in order to get answers? It means his control is growing and Arcel has no recollection of it. For as powerful as he is, we have to plan and work on countermeasures or else we are doomed to fail and lose everything precious to us And I know you well enough to know that you hate losing.”
Nightmare Moon thinks for a moment. She seems to be struggling with a difficult choice. She then looks Sabu directly in the eyes.
“No, We don’t think so. We will not take any action against Dark Descent. Now is not the proper time.
We also must request that you do not take any action against him either. We cannot explain why, but you must trust Us it is for Arcel’s own good.”

As to the device, *She examines it carefully* We should be able to remove it. It looks like it’s rigged to explode if tampered with, but We have a few tricks that should allow Us to bypass that. If you’re willing to risk it, that is.
