What is this "Imperium of Equus" like?
Effectively it is the Imperium of Man, inhabited solely by ponies. We know little about it save that they appear to revere a so-called ‘God-Emperor of Ponykind’ (We have to chuckle a little at this point), and that their weapons are as effective as their human Imperium equivalents.
As to whether their universe is similar in other respects to the one that houses the Imperium of Man, We cannot answer, save to comment that since they have an equivalent to the Ordo Malleus, it seems likely Chaos exists there as well.

They ranged from a variety of hovertanks to Large multi-legged machines, and from small interceptor to large Arial platforms. All of them bristled with unknown technology and a light sheild around them. The CCU Fires the first shot, a 200mm railgun, at a Standby Golem*
*The railgun volley impacts Nightmare Moon’s shield and dissolves. The shield then drops, allowing her forces to move forward and engage the invaders.
The titan’s primary volcano cannon locks onto the CCU and prepares to fire.*

Okay I just discovered something unsettling, if you kill Celestia the sun will go super nova and explode, taking out the very planet Equestria is on and not even your magic would be able to stop it. Why you ask? Because it seems her life has become tied to it over the years and if she goes, so does the sun. Also if you destroy the elements of harmony then there will be nomore harmony in the land, only chaos and discord and that's no fun. Sorry, so what will you do now now Miss Night? ~ Mr.B

At most Celestia’s death may cause a slowdown in the sun’s fusion, but even that is unlikely, and if it did occur We would have close to a decade to evacuate Equestria.
