relena-dark asked: So the anons are controlled? That's good to know... They can be controlled...

Perhaps, though they seem more a force of chaos than anything else…

mythic-swirl asked: ((OOC:... *face hooves self* Sorry for sending a question twice... stupid Tumblr messing with me...)) *he blushs further* I am sure your techniques are far more refined then my own rough edged illusions... *looks up*... what is Prime Magic? I have never heard that term before.

Prime is… it’s hard to describe. It’s an extremely rare magic. Only a handful of mortal ponies have ever practiced it.

We suppose you could say it is the direct modification of a section of reality, though that is a rather poor description of the subtle power of Prime. In the Shadowbolts, it was the binding holding the otherwise incompatible illusions and neighcromancy together.

((ooc: Prime shamelessly cribbed from Mage: the Ascension.))

asksugarsong-blog asked: Your sparkly hair is very pretty!

Thank you. It’s somewhat prehensile, too, which comes in handy when We want to get up close and personal with somepony.

Anonymous asked: heyhey, I never did anything to Scootaloo! Some of us are members that just use anon - I totally have a soul!

We know there are some nice anons, but since you are all faceless and generic, We by default assume the worst about them unless they provide Us with a name.

((ooc: I don’t hate anons (I think the bizarreness of some of the things they ask is fun). Nightmare Moon is the one that does. Sorry if I confused anyone.))

mythic-swirl asked: *eyes widen*... w-wow... they were solid illusions and self sustaining... I don't know why this surprises me when I consider how powerful you are... but... *shuffles a bit*... it just adds to what I find attractive about you I suppose... *nervous swallow*... do you think maybe... if you ever have time... we could... swap notes no the forming of illusions?

Sure! Though from what We have seen We don’t have much We can teach you about illusions. And the Shadowbolts used more than just illusions. The magic used to make them was complex, and involved a mix of illusions, alterations, neighcromancy, and prime.

the-shady-bacon asked: Darn, that would have been a fun job. Oh well, back to the shop and stealing from sugar cube corner.

So that’s what you were doing! We were so confused the other night…

Anonymous asked: We don't have souls, but we have free will? Or are we already controlled by a hidden evil that bears animosity towards everything? *anon suddenly freezes up* *anon starts licking NMM's horn*

You see?

*She teleports the anon without a destination, dropping it at some random point in space.*

We rest our case.

stilllunaanswers asked: Anons don't hav- ...What, are you saying Tumblr's the only way to gain a soul?

You can’t honestly say that beings that would beat poor Scootaloo have souls, do you?

mythic-swirl asked: I thought the original Shadow bolts were illusions though, weren't they?

The Shadowbolts were one of Our finest creations. Their bodies were solid illusions, perfectly real to all five senses, but their minds were crafted from some of Our loyal followers. We have always had trouble with being in more than a few places at once, and couldn’t manage to maintain them and have them behave realistically as individuals any other way.

We suspect your natural talent with illusions is what allows you to preform a similar task without the cost of a living pony’s soul.

the-shady-bacon asked: I wouldn't mind working for you, nightmare. All I'd want is minimum wage and weekends off. Not exactly the mindless slave you're looking for, but it's better than nothing.

We can’t really afford to hire anyone. We’re living mostly what We can embezzle from Celestia’s various royal expense accounts, plus the meagre salary Our secret identity earns.
