Well we came to your castle last night with the intent to console Arcel and help bring him out of his funk. Show him we didn’t blame him or hate him for any of those things. We spoke to him for a while, our words seeming to do little to move him out of his depression and guilt ridden state. Just as he was asking us to depart to leave him time to think I voiced we should try and do more since my sense of loyalty would kill me if I didn’t. Well we were just getting restarted when he began to spasm and transform.
It was the Dark Descent .. he manifested himself physically and trapped us in his bed chambers. Forcing a fight. This caused Twilight to become consumed by her tenth clone, having the strong intent to absorb all of Dark Descent’s power and kill him in the process. I was caught between the two of them, with me trying to calm Twilight down .. which worked, but sadly rendered her unconscious for the duration of the fight. So for a brief while it was Me versus him. I managed to fend off some of his attacks with my sword, but ultimately it was Twilight’s mother who had cloaked herself and followed us that helped destroy some of his illusions.
He tried manifesting more, but he .. seemed to have been restrained by some sort of shortage of power. Though he still threw something our way that surely would have killed us all if it had not been for Star Sparkle’s intervention. She allowed me enough time to gain the upperhoof go for an all out blitzkrieg attack. Though this was soon halted as he summoned up a physical life link. Hiding behind it, threatening to sever the ties to Arcel’s and Twilight’s shared life. The entire time I had been building up on a giant spell that might have worked.
I saw though that there was too much at stake to risk Arcel and Twilight .. in spite of Twilight wanting me to sever those ties, knowing that I had some forms of neighcromancy down.. but I hadn’t the heart because in the long haul I’d lose even more. So I made him an offer as my powers were beginning to dip into the reserves of my mother’s skills. He had two options. Either he can retreat back into Arcel and we all go on as we were or I unleash the massive spell that he had no idea what it was and risk losing everything. He chose the former and retreated as some conditions were made. His were that he would retreat and rework Arcel’s memories so he would have no memories of what transpired last night. Mine being that he would tell me why he resides in Arcel and continues to plague him, to swear off from screwing with my relationship with Twilight and explain what he had hoped to gain from messing with my memories, from trying to break up my relationship with Twilight. He told me that was to why he plagues Arcel, would be revealed next time he comes back. The other two, he told me to speak to clone number 12 about.. and that’s everything that happened last night.

I can shed some light on this. It started here not too long ago we found out Twilight’s Nightmare fueled magic was eating away are her overall life span. As an end result Arcel and I both began looking for our own ways to help. He, researching ways to restore lost years of life, me seeking out the help of the most powerful I know of: Trixie, Celestia, Luna and of course Arcel.. time was short and Twi’ was losing her fight for her life.. just as Arcel found a way to restore her life through a life link, thus granting her the immortality he has.
I had ingested the pure magical extract of my mother so I could hopefully find a spell she might have known to restore lost life. Well the surge of magical energy caused my power to spiral out of my control which prompted Arcel to dive into my mind and snap me out of it. The misfortune came from him not realizing something had invaded my mind and rewrote my memories to a point. Making me think yourself, Twilight and Arcel were still in a three way relationship and make me think I had dated Trixie and was engaged to Applejack.
This caused Arcel and Twilight both to dive into my mind, looking for the source of what had been poisoning my memories, they found it. It was the Dark Descent. It got into my mind to some how get at Arcel and had blocked his presence from Arcel, it being Twilight who stopped him.
That wasn’t the last though .. there was a .. transgression between an Arcel clone and Twilight clone while we were out shopping, that added more guilt on his shoulders. Then recently the other night after helping out Octavia with her issues, we went to my place to drink and talk his worries over. The same worries as previously mentioned. We drank and drank and he talked. Well it turned out he involuntarily casts spells when intoxicated. He first accidentally turned himself into a mare and then shortly after cast an antilust spell to prevent his hormones from going out of whack and leading to bad road. He had me get a magic inhibiting ring for him so he’d stop drunk casting. while I did that something came over him and he cast a strong lust spell on the liquor. Needless to say this affected he and I. Almost to a point of no return ..
Thankfully Twilight and Cocoa Butter had come along and stopped us .. though this angered Twilight and left me to try and pick up the pieces.. After we resolved that issue we had tossed around the possibility of Dark Descent being behind some of that. So we sought out last night looking for him, knowing he had probably holed himself up here out of guilt … which then leads us to what happened last night when we came in..
Nightmare Moon nods. “We knew some of that, but much of it is new to Us… Go on. What happened last night?”
