Yes. Generally it is unnecessary, however, since Discord’s transformations (at least in complex creatures like ponies) are self-limiting and temporary. Unless the transformation somehow threatens the pony’s life, it’s usually safer to simply restrain them and wait for it to wear off.

((I’m less offended by the fact that people won’t let me just not like her than I am by the fact that the claim that she had any character development at all is bullshit. She whined about the fact that killing people she likes is hard. Then she tried to do the thing that was going to get everyone killed. For character development, she gets an F.))
