Did you remember preform the rites to turn the armour off before you removed it? The bat-wings are linked to a spell on the armour. Normally, it deactivates once the armour is removed, but sometimes it sticks if the proper rites aren’t followed.

Here. We found it in one of the human-dominated worlds. Supposedly it contains something called 'the Indulgence of Pope Alexander IV’, and it is imbued with the power to remove all sensation guilt from the bearer. We’d gotten it as a birthday gift for the Avenger, but We suppose Saburou has a more urgent need of it, so We can lend it to him for now.
