(just want to clarify here.
gryphon is a eagle/falcon crossed with a lion and hippogriff is a eagle/falcon crossed with a horse/pony. genetic manipulation or magic would be the cause *adjusts brainyspecs*)
((ooc: Nope. Mythologically, a hippogriff is the result of a griffon breeding with a mare.))

What We have or have not had sex with is besides the point. Griffons are ponies, as proven by the existence of hippogriffs.
I’m pretty sure magic is involved in the conception of hippogriffs.
Besides, if griffons were ponies, a griffon breeding with a pony would produce either a griffon or a pony of the subspecies as the pony parent. Since, you know, that’s how pony breeding works.
Magic is involved in the conception of all ponies, whether the ponies involved are earth ponies, unicorns, griffons, pegasi, or zebras.
The union of a griffon and any other pony subtype results in a hippogriff (except in the case of griffon/hippogriff crosses, which have a 50% chance of resulting in a griffon), which is cross-fertile with any of the other pony subtypes (with the standard %50 chance of resulting in either parent’s subtype).

One can never be sure where magic is involved. For example, griffons, despite what one might intuitively think, are most decidedly ponies.
Griffons aren’t even closely related to ponies.
…Wait…
…OH ‘TIA YOU BUCKED A GRIFFON.

He is a dragon. Are you really surprised a dragon would be able take the #1 spot, where size is concerned?
No, I’m surprised that you BUCKED A DRAGON AT ALL.
Oh who am I kidding? I’m not surprised.
Like We’ve said a few times, We aren’t sure whether or not dragons are ponies, and some old legends claim that they are.
Well those old legends are clearly wrong. Dragons are clearly not ponies. They’re not even in the same taxonomic class.
…Oh sweet ‘Tia I’m arguing with a “goddess”.

Really? We feel sorry for them, whoever they are.
Unless they were an aquatic dragon. We understand they tend to be quite small.

…Aren’t you a mare? Wait, no. Never mind. One of the ‘somepony We can’t name publicly’ entries is usually a mare, too.
