vindicarthehippogriff asked: No, I were born in Griffon Kingdom and raised by griffons, not ponies. Due to xenophobia they have practically no knowledge of pony-specific diseases.
That would explain it, then.
Even as an adult, the condition is not entirely uncorrectable. It’s a bit trickier, however, since your horn is fully solidified, and recovery will likely take several months. If you’d like, We can schedule you an appointment with one of Our surgeons.
vindicarthehippogriff asked: So there _are_ problems. As I told you, I've never... tested it. I've expected something like that, though. But were you able to determine real reason?
Yes. You suffer from a birth defect known as mana impaction. The defect occurs in one out of every hundred unicorn births, and is normally corrected surgically a few months after the foal is born. If permitted to continue uncorrected to adulthood, it can lead to greatly reduced fertility, difficulty in preforming magic, and increased risk of food allergies.
Were you born in a pony hospital? If you were, it’s surprising the defect was not identified sooner.
mythic-swirl asked: *in the early hours of the morning a cart approaches the edge of Moon City, 3 ponies aboard it, having traveled throughout the night to be here, the only of the 3 currently awake being the elder Stallion, his violet cloak secured around his neck and back, he raises an eyebrow as they approach the gates*
*One of the gate guards walks in front of the cart and holds out his hoof.*
Guard: All right, please open your cart for customs inspection. Do you have anything to declare?
vindicarthehippogriff asked: Ah, it's nice to see you once more, Lady. Was your night good?
Yes, it was.
It’s good you stopped by. We found something interesting in your test results. It seems your fertility problems are not due to your ancestry.

((ooc: Nope. The lungs and anus are the only parts of the body that can rupture in a vacuum (the eyes also have some trouble, since tears will instantly evaporate). With blood nannies to prevent the bends and repair radiation damage, you could probably go into space nearly naked.))

Now the design of Ashley does not bug me that much, probably because I never played the first one (I own a PS3, I would love to play it but yeah) But the design is no where near provocative as Samara’s (high stilettos and over exposed cleavage anyone?) please don’t say “But Samara is an asari and she has biotic barriers”, Biotic barriers fail and having nothing but that skimpy outfit as backup would be unbelievably stupid. I continue with Jack, she goes around in a belt bra.
Now we have Ashley, she is wearing a very decent amount of armor, and even has her hair up. Yet people complain? The design with the relaxed hair is only for non battle purposes. Is it because she is a soldier? What gives a biotic an excuse to skimp around?
My only two problems with the design is the intention, “We wanted to give Ashley sex appeal” and the thing I circled on the image above; is that cleavage? WHY? It is so out of nowhere and is a bullseye for hostile fire what the hell?
Please ignore this I wanted to vent and stuff.
^ yep
I think people aren’t pissed off about Samara cause Asari are supposed to have that ~sex appeal~ and Jack doesn’t have clothes because PFFT SHE DON’T NEED NO CLOTHES (she just wants to show off her crazy cool tats, come on now)
People (myself included) are mostly pissed off about the “sex appeal” thing, which is understandable, but the only problem I see with the armour is the square of boobage. Like you said, it’s just a target area and it has no purpose of being there ffff
At this point Bioware isn’t going to change her design, so getting all worked up about it won’t do anything. I don’t agree with the design choice but what can ya do? I have faith her character will be the same…she will just have more, uh, sex appeal on the outside (why bioware why)
and why is ash getting all the attention? didn’t anyone notice that Garrus’ visor changed?
HOW SCANDALOUS
Bioware has stated her actual armor hasn’t been shown yet. The design with the boob window was actually another concept they had for her casual clothes. I can’t find the tweet, but several people have brought it up on the LJ community that she’s supposed to get a female version of Kaidan’s armor, with removable helmet and everything.
Ok I’ve seen a LOT of people complaining about Ashley’s new design for ME3 and I figured I’d post my 2 cents about it, both as an avid ME fan and an artist who wants to one day -be- one of these conceptual artists for video games.
As was stated, this is her casual wear. Even if it’s not, let me point out a few characters for you to think about (sans Samara and Jack, as they were mentioned): THANE wears leather and loose-fitting clothing. HE has his chest exposed (for his condition, as was put in his shadow broker files) AND his back exposed. MIRANDA wears a skin-tight latex suit for fucks sake. That apparently she can just zip right off too. JACOB has VERY minimal armor and he’s supposed to be a soldier! In his romance scene he just slips that right off anyway.
So it’s not JUST Ashley who wears “useless” armor, as armor goes.
There are a few things when making a character that go through conceptual artists minds. READABILITY— this has to do with how a character can be viewed from a distance. This is a common trick in painting, as well. If you can’t spot a character from a mile away just by how they look— their silhouette, their colors, their outfit— then it is NOT readable in combat. For example— I have more than once shot Garrus on occasion during a crazy fire-fight with the Blue Suns because this is how the mind identifies readability —- turian, blue, SHOOT— wait that’s Garrus— SHIT. It’s so subconscious that it’s difficult to explain.
Another thing they need to take into consideration when designing characters is lack of individuality. I believe ME1 suffered from that a little with all the armors.. Towards the end, pretty much my whole squad was outfitted in the stupid Camo gear, and I hated it, to be honest. I would actually down-grade their armor just so they wouldn’t all look alike. With ME2 they did away with that entire system and I’ve heard they will be bringing it back in 3, but back to my point.. If a character is just uninteresting to look at, it’s uninteresting. Period.
Sex appeal, the hair down, the cleavage..none of that bothers me. In fact I quite like the subtleness of it. Yes, I said subtle. Because she’s supposed to be attractive, otherwise people would bitch and complain that she’s not. If she had bulky armor like Vega I can guarantee there would be people howling that she’s too manly and they want to see her figure.
Personally.. none of it really matters to me, because..I killed her on Virmire. I can’t stand her character, and I wont even be seeing her in ME3.. but, I felt like offering my opinion regardless, because it was really starting to bug me.(If that’s just the casual wear, she can go around naked for all I care.)
I think we should focus less on the cleavage and more on the space suits. VACUUM OF SPACE! You need more than a little rebreather mask in the VACUUM OF SPACE!
Not really. You’d need a compression layer at best, and we’ve got the technology available this very moment in time to do that in less than an inch of fabric.
After that all you really need is a seal and a rebreather and you’re set.

You x Reginald. Thats whats upWho’s Reginald?
That green dragon that lives outside Ponyville. We don’t know what strange dragon Rarity is talking about, though.
…Why am I being paired with a male dragon I never met?
