(( WARNING - NEW EPISODE SPOILERS !!
All I have to say is…
Oh snap!
Fanon ruined. I guess I’ll retcon! ))
((ooc: Finally a death to that fanon thing that Mr. Cake is sterile. I never liked that one.))
The cowardice of the sun-hag and her accomplices was shown once again today. An explosive device, smuggled in by solar loyalists, was detonated inside the Moon Castle. Fortunately, the terrorists were as incompetent as they are cowardly, as nopony was killed by the blast.
In other news, reports of a shadowy figure flying away from the explosion and into the Everfree forest, as well as reports of “patches of black energy” have been investigated, and determined by Her Glorious Highness’s loyal agents to be merely the products of active imaginations. For the greater glory of the Lunar Empire, spreading of such rumours will not be tolerated.
ALL HAIL THE NIGHT! ALL HAIL NIGHTMARE MOON!
I asked for anime, and I got a few, and then I got a loooooot of repeats. So, I will post the ones I got that interest me from what little I’ve seen, or from their names, and YOU will tell me what the hell they are!
Toriko
High School of the Dead
Ghost Sweeper Mikami
Baccano
Ao No Exorcist
Higurashi
Pani Poni Dash
Serial Experiments Lain
Martian Successor Nadesico
Armitage IIIGive me your opinions on these shows and a brief summary, if you’d be so kind!
((ooc: Serial Experiments Lain is a very philosophical series about the internet and communications. It’s about a girl named Lain who discovers a suicide cult that believe God lives in the internet. It’s odd at times, but enjoyable. I’d recommend it.
Martian Successor Nadesico is a lighter series. It’s your typical space opera type, about the crew of the battleship Nadesico off to save earth from aliens. It can be a bit bipolar at times (it swings back and forth from light-hearted comedy to dramatic war scenes), but it’s very enjoyable.
Armitage III is a lot like blade runner, if it was told from the point of view of the replicants. Watch the OVA, not the movie (which was very disappointing). Oh, and the ‘III’ is part of the main character’s name ('the third’), not meaning it’s the third series.))
I need a good anime. Suggestions?
((ooc: Oh, and Digimon Tamers (3rd season digimon).))
((i love that show))
((ooc: 2nd season is okay, too, but 3rd is definitly the best.
Oh, and since tumblr aparantly removes your reply if you reblog later, I’d originally recommended Ghost in the Shell (TV or movie), Macross, Martian Successor Nadesico, and Armitage III (OVA only, not movie).))

Thunder crackles ominously in the background as Nightmare Moon’s scientists hurriedly put the final touches on the dread Queen’s latest diabolical scheme. Of course, the thunder is only a recording (the lab is underground, after all), but Nightmare Moon is insistent that these things must have the proper mood.
The scientists circle around a large clear cylinder, its contents obscured by the nearly opaque pink fluid inside, monitoring dials and turning knobs as chemicals gurgle noisily through tubes and into the mysterious contraption.
Nightmare Moon watches from a platform, smiling as the machines that go ping ping and the haphazardly strewn Jacob’s ladders sizzle. She stands confident, despite the numerous and obvious safety hazards posed by the needlessly mad scientist style lair. Her newest weapon in her war against the sun-hag is about to be born.
She wouldn’t miss this for the world.

((ooc: Wow, that turned out longer than I had intended…
Tell me what you think!))?
After seeing this, I thought I’d post some more of the things I’ve come up with as backstory. In no particular order:
First off, I’m assuming the hearth warming pageant was about as accurate as accurate as modern historical reenactments (that is to say, only in its barest outline). Things that are accurate include:
However:
The ponies former homeland was not simply another place on the same planet. Instead, during their wanderings, the nomad ponies accidentally crossed into the space where an unknowable, massively powerful being was ‘giving birth’ (the closest metaphor to what was actually happening). The ponies became caught up in this 'birth’, pulled into the newborn God, their minds, hopes, and desires helping to shape it. And that’s how Equestria was born.
The beings known as Lumina and Galaxiour, as well as the other Greater Alicorns, are fragments of the birthing God, which was shattered in childbirth. Celestia and Luna, on the other hand, are the living avatars of the God-Universe Equestria itself (which is still an infant by divine standards). Their forms were shaped by the minds of the migrating ponies just as Equestria was, representing the pony ideals of divinity.
The Elements of Harmony are tools, not weapons (though they are quite effective if used destructively). They were forged by the dying birthing God, to give to its child as its inheritence. Together, they are the single greatest power in Equestria, and are avatars (if that’s the proper word) of the first form of the concept optimism (read Plato and you’ll get what I mean).
Discord is, to the God-Universe Equestria, the equivalent of a virus. His imprisonment in stone is the equivalent of a tubercle formed around an infectious agent, his escape and reimprisonment the equivalent of a temporary flare-up of a chronic infection.
Nightmare Moon is, to the God-Universe, a cancer. Princess Luna’s hatred and jealousy was powerful enough to cause a detrimental, permanent (but treatable) mutation within the God-Universe. She partakes of its divine essence, being in effect a malign portion of it, and is in that way 'divine’. Like all cancers, Equestria can only ever be in remission from Nightmare Moon, never fully cured. The Elements of Harmony are rather effective at 'chemotherapy’, however.
So, what do you all think? Like it? Hate it? Tell me!
*Nightmare Moon teleports in near Red X, Raven’s description being just enough to determine his location. She looks at him for a moment, then sniffs.* We aren’t interested in you, human, but you might know where to find the one We seek. Blackfire.
*She sniffs again.* That suit you wear smells… odd.
X leaps about ten feet into the air.
“Holy frick—!”
X stares at the armoured pony, taking deep breaths to calm himself.
“Who the hell’re you?! Where did you come from?
*Nightmare Moon glares at Red X condescendingly.*
We are Nightmare Moon, the one true Goddess of Equestria. We seek the one known as Blackfire. Can you or can’t you lead Us to her? If you can, you will be rewarded for your cooperation.
