Derpy is kept employed by the Ponyville post office because she’s a pony version of SCP-519. She can deliver a package to anypony, anywhere, so long as she’s given their name (or even an indistinct identifier, like ‘my cousin’). Sure, the package might not arrive quickly or intact, but it always gets there. Nopony knows how she does this. She leaves with the package, disappears for a while, and then returns, with the package being found shortly thereafter by the intended recipient.
