Brony assumptions have been proven wrong, flight is natural part of pegusi that is apparently instinctual, and magic is a lot more natural for baby ponies.

Have you tried using enchantment-grade gems to aid in sustaining the spell? As an undead, you should have no problem affixing a few to yourself permanently.
