((ooc: The whole ‘rolling droid’ concept. It would never survive on a real battlefield, even a modern one. It would get stuck on something and blown to bits while helpless.
Star Wars is pretty bad in general about presenting realistic future military equipment. It is much, much better than Star Trek, though. I have my doubts that the federation would win a land war against a nation armed with WWII level tech.))
((Oh. Well, duh. The droids and weapons and stuff are just meant to look cool. Light sabers are incredibly impossible. Well, I did see a show where they told how to make a working lightsaber, but it used stuff like plasma and other stuff that would make a better bomb than a laser sword.))
((ooc: Nah, things like blasters and shields and lightsabers comes under suspension of disbelief. That sort of thing doesn’t even raise an eyebrow.
It’s the fantastically stupid things, like the holodeck, or astromech droids lacking voice synth, or the design of just about every tank in 40k that bugs me.))
