OOC: Probably not, but…

…does anyone following me have an Atari ST or STE for sale? I know I could probably find one on Ebay, but I hate dealing with that site.

ooc: you know what sucks?

((ooc: I miss Bungie more.

Where’s the real Myth III? Where’s the sequel to Oni? Where’s the updated Marathon re-release? For that matter, where’s the sci-fi real-time tactics game we were promised?

(The answer to the last two is that Halo is the butchered, re-animated Frankenstein’s monster Microsoft built out of the real Bungie’s remains.)))

ooc: Yep… and as much as I miss gaming companies… I also wish some computer companies would take greater pride in there repair work.

After my Hard Drive crashed(which the company was kind enough to fix for free), and I had it repaired, suddenly all sorts of new problems, the disk drive fails over half the time, it freezes up for short bursts all the time… its freaking ridiculous… what ever happened to quality over quantity?

((ooc: I miss Acorn. And Sun (RIP 2 years ago next week…). And when Apple actually made better hardware than everyone else, instead of just charging as if they do.

Some days I even miss NeXT and Plan 9… but then I come back to my senses.))

((ooc: Dune II (based vaguely on the David Lynch film, which in turn was based on the books) was the first Westwood RTS (they’d previously made a number of excellent turn-based games, most notably the BattleTech adaptations). Most of the things that define today’s RTSes (resource collection, base-building with technology trees, context-sensitive mouse controls) first debuted in Dune II.))

ooc: Aww, good old Westwood, I miss them =(

I haven’t played it myself, but C&C4… it ruined it… not just the game play(base building removed), but the story too… dear god, Westwood was winding such a great tale!… and EA, like it so often does, dropped the ball =(

Discovering you are desperately bad at a game you thought you were at least decent at =(

In my case, that is Red Alert 3… and the Challenge mode in the expansion just… TnT

((ooc: Don’t feel bad. I’m also terrible at Dune II-style RTSes.

Warcraft, Starcraft, C&C… I’m terrible at them all.))

ooc: I absolutely love them, and on easy or medium I do alright… but I guess Challenge puts them at max difficulty.. that or they are medium and I suck even more…

… wait… Dune II-style?… An RTS I am unaware of…. I know of the Dune series… have yet to read them actually, huh.

To clarify: I think the talent pool for the various RP blogs is astounding and the vast majority of people RPing have the capability of RPing amazingly; they just for whatever reason don’t and I constantly either cringe at the RPs that I see or wish I could teach them how to RP better without sounding like an elitist jerkbutt. I still love them and will follow them as long as I feel they have room for improvement, but I just wish I could ignore the judging eye I have. I’m sorry, everypony. Please forgive me.

(( I know that feel, anon. I know that feel. ))

((ooc: As always, I encourage well-reasoned critiques of my Nightmare Moon (and my other characters, though nopony ever seems to talk to them). I’d also encourage everyone else to do the same. No one is so good they can’t be better.))

Anonymous asked: You'd be doing Luna a favor if you killed the foal in secret.

Well, We’re fairly sure We can’t kill an alicorn secretly. That sort of thing gets noticed. Though if… NO! We will not kill Luna’s foal, no matter it’s father!

Anonymous asked: Your majesty, I seem to have come upon numerous attempts to bring about an unfortunate end to my existence. If any, what advice would you have to defend against this?

That depends on what motivates those attempting to slay you.

There is no way to guarantee your safety from assassins, especially if said assassins are willing to die to see you dead, but We have found bodyguards, armies, and a nice thick stone wall all go a long way to ensuring safety.

We’d also recommend getting a few foals (either yours or somepony else’s). Those self-righteous hero types are generally unable to shoot through anything prepubescent.

the-princess-celestia-blog asked: -The letter reads: "Dearest Luna, (I know you're not really My Sister, but you are still Luna.) I request that we have a diplomatic meeting at a time that suits you, on neutral ground. We need to talk, Luna. I will not put any more into writing, but you have my word that no attack shall be made upon your person for the duration of this meeting, and up to a day afterwards. Sincerely, Celestia."-

*Nightmare Moon reads the letter several times, an unreadable expression on her face. Wordlessly, she folds the letter and places it in one of her saddlebags, then walks off to consult with her advisors.*
