Homeland Security Given Green Light to Monitor American Journalists
And by “journalists”, they mean
journalists, news anchors, reporters or anyone who uses “traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed.”
That means anyone that has a blog, twitter account or similar. Anyone, including you. You post on tumblr, so you’re a blogger.
And what do they do with this data? Store it securely in case one of you starts to act a terrorist? Nope:

So they collect personal data of you and give it to anyone interested. All for security.
…huh. Really? This looks interesting, to say the least.
And THAT is why I never write my real name together with my nickname on the web. Only on Skype or in private mail with someone who I trust. But on the web it’s just too risky.
That does not matter. When you post, you do it from a computer. That one has an IP. Tumblr is required by law to give out that information when they’re being asked by Homeland Security. With that IP, they can easily get the physical address of your computer.

I found a VT220 emulator card for an Atari ST in one of my grandfather’s parts boxes. My real VT220 is on its last legs, and dedicated terminals are very expensive these days, so a dedicated VT220 emulator would come in handy.))
