I’m experimenting with making a Minecraft server. I generated a new world for it, logged in, and what did it do?
It spawned me underwater.
When I got to the surface, I found a tiny island. Here’s a couple of views from said island…
Does this happen a lot, or is it just my luck?

…because I don’t think that’s supposed to happen. It dropped me on a 3x3 patch of sand, with nothing but water out to the horizon.
It seems fun. After a couple of false starts (including one where the world generator dropped me in the middle of the ocean) I’ve managed to build a pretty nice home for myself. I’ve got a farm set up, and some cows and chickens.
Oh, and I found my first diamonds! And some gold, redstone, and lapis lazuli as well!
