Were it not for the Nightmare’s booming voice, he never would have found her, but as such, he landed on the other end of the clearing, walking slowly towards her with his head bowed. He bowed both out of respect, and out of exhaustion. His efforts had left him drained, and he had not eaten in days, but he was determined to make a good impression.
“My lady… I beckoned you here for a simple purpose. I once stood at your side, a very long time ago, and now… my life is devoid of much purpose." He fell to his knees, his voice firming a little more. "I now ask that I may do so again. I was given my horn by your ladyship as a gift for my loyalty before your banishment. I stood as Captain of your Honor Guard, even when Celestia herself turned on you. I humbly beg you, Nightmare Moon, my lady… allow me to serve you once more." He paused, and after a moment, added a much quieter ‘Please…’
Nightmare Moon looks down at the blue pony, her face expressionless. Though she has done her best to keep it a secret, many of her memories of the events that occurred one thousand years ago were lost when she split from Luna, remaining only as vague generalities in her mind. To whit, she scarcely remembers this supplicant at all.
